Training it to business
With 1965 for 1969 I studied in Academy of a merchant marine fleet of the USA in New York. Throughout four years in this federal high school from young men, and now and young women, prepared officers for a merchant marine fleet. Our training has begun with four weeks of intensive physical and military preparation for which so military academies are famous. Us lifted early in the morning and drove until late at night. After to us it heads, have begun to learn us to all at once: to military discipline, form carrying, shooting, physical exercises and even etiquette behind a dining table.
In addition to it we have spent the whole year in the sea that was called at us as a correspondence course, but actually we worked on trading courts of the most different lines, in practice mastering everything to that us learnt in an audience. We with my fellow students have visited practically all well-known ports of the world. Personally for me it there was the best part of the program. Thanks to this year we had to pass the traditional four-year program of college in the sea for three years. We have received perfect broad education. By the time of the termination from my course 50 percent of people were eliminated approximately, but the others were ready to rise for a steering wheel of the ship as younger officers and to get hand in under the captain and the senior officers of the command. In day of release one of my instructors has told:it Our program of preparation so is difficult because we prepare you not to be simple captains of ships, and captains of this industry it. And many of my fellow students have promoted and became leaders of the industry of a merchant marine fleet.
