What represents expression in language of Pascal? Much depends on expression type. We will consider at first expressions arithmetic, that is those which result is the number.Into structure of arithmetic expression in language of Pascal can enter:
Numerical constants;
Names of variables;
Signs of mathematical operations;
Mathematical functions and the functions returning number;
Opening and closed parentheses.
Rules of construction of expressions remind mathematical with some specifications. Expression is written in one string (any ???), between operands without fail there should be an operation sign (Record "2x" - is not admitted), signs of some operations and the name of some functions are distinct from habitual to you.
Operations:
+ Addition;
- Subtraction;
/ division;
* Multiplication;
MOD a remainder of division (it is written so: A MOD B; it is read: remainder of division A on B); this operation is applicable only to integers;
DIV integer division (it is written so A DIV B; it is read: result of division A on B without a fractional part); this operation too is applied
Only for the whole operands.
Arguments of functions are always written in parentheses: SIN (X) sin x; COS (X) cos x; ARCTAN (X) arctg x; ABS (X) absolute value x (in the mathematician - |x |);
