Why Do You Need to Use PNG Image Format in Your Website Creation?
The benefits of using PNG images in website creation over various other image formats ;for instance, GIF and JPEG; the image format can be used to make really amazing and efficient web graphics that will wow your visitorsThe PNG image format was introduced quite a while back; it was brought out for consumers around 95/96 to cover the drawbacks of the the common GIF image format. However, it failed to create ripples because the early browsers were not designed to support the progressive features of PNG so web designers and creators had to use it stingily. One of the major blocks faced by the format was Microsoft's flagship product, Internet Explorer which was by far the most famous browsers of that period; IE had very little space for PNG support which meant that the format could only be incorporated in the most restricted way. However, the scene metamorphosed when IE7 was brought out; this latest product from Microsoft has aided in increasing the utility of PNGs. You will be able to create images that can be superimposed due to their transparency or a feature called alpha transparency: When you pitch GIF against PNG, it will become apparent that A definitive difference in the two formats is that you will only be able to save a specific color transparently through the use of GIF this equates to the fact that you can get the color regardless of it being opaque or transparent with just transparency in betweenbut when you use PNG, you get a specific feature over GIF; because the format supports semi transparent pixels. This simply means that you can save a PNG image with a soft drop shadow and then use it against a background of your choice. Through this feature you will be able to use an image as a background with gradient or a water mark. The image file type allows for the slow fading of hues from fully opaque to see through, so that you can see the webpage that lies in the background
They look fabulous: Not only do you get surprising flexibility when using PNG images but also; there are several other advantages to incorporating this format. For instance, if you choose a JPG image, you lose a part of the details on the original file every time you save the file, so eventually, you will be able to view a noticeable decline in the appearance of the pictures. Even if, this problem has now been sorted in in the file type and it is possible to save the files without losing any details, GIF only allows for a limited 256 color palette, which imparts it quite useless if you are going to store a picture. On the other hand, if PNG is incorporated, you will get the most desired benefits of the two file types; you get a complete color display like the one used in JPEG images and it also provides managed color palette as seen in GIF files. At the same time the storage of the picture is sans loss so the photograph does not change regardless of how many time you save it.
PNG allows for self optimization: A serious problem that web designers need to handle on a daily basis is the issue where the contrast and brightness of the commuter screen has to be regulated to see the images properly; this problem occurs due to various Gamma setting used in monitors from different vendors. Gamma setting is a method incorporated to distribute the luminance across the screen. However, diverse operating systems use a variety of Gamma settings. So, an image that is color corrected to suit Windows may not look right on a Mac. Here again, in this scenario the versatile PNG format can prove useful, in PNG, you can save the pictures with with a Gamma correction feature that is innate so regardless of the operating system; the Gamma settings will be automatically adjusted to display an image with the perfect ratios of contrast as well as brightness.
