Droid : Icons Have Come A Long Way
The Droid and the icons it has onboard reflect the new smartphone technology. The Droid icons are smooth, easy to identitfy and tend to convey what they mean in a relatively nice display that allows for ease in comprehensionIt used to be, you had 3 to 5 icons on your mobile telephone to tell you everything that's occuring with your cellular world. These days there is plethora of icons, and at the forefront are the iPhone and the Verizon Droid.
Now you can see not only voicemail as an icon, but if you missed a call, if there is a call on hold, new voicemail or new email message. You'll know if there's an issue with your SMS or MMS delivery, if there is new instant message, if information is syncing or if a song is playing on your phone. The Droid and the icons it has onboard reflect the new smartphone technology.
If the ringer is off in silent mode or if the speakerphone is on - there is a separate icon for it. You can tell if there is a call on hold, if the call is forwarded or if there us a calling progress. It will also tell you if GPS is enabled and if it is working.
The Droid icons are smooth, straightforward to identify and tend to convey what they mean in a comparatively nice display that allows for ease in understanding. The Droid wants this level of icons as it does so much. It has got an aircraft mode where wireless services are instantly set to off.
All these icons are show in the standing bar on the apex of the Droid. Of course, you get the usual icons, but there are icons for pending Notifications and Messages. This indicates that all of the calls, SMS messages and new mails are all shown in this section. They will be there till you look after them. This is superb for when you're away from your cell telephone.
The Droid doesn't give audio reminders, but it does give you lots of icons and a green blinking light that may activate the status bar so that you can take care of any pending actions that are shown by the various icon notices. All that you need to do then is turn on your Droid and touch the express icon that measures up to an action. You can then sort it.
For as cool as the Droid is, sometimes it must be rebooted. You can spot when this is happening when the see-through wheel icon starts spinning nonstop. You will need to use the Advance Task Killer if you have it, and can use it. There are different types icons for various services and apps. Everything from apps to actions to take, Droid icons are easy to read and pretty clear cut.
