How to define vital priorities
Take the list of your Vital Purposes and spend one minute to choose three most main of them. Designate most important of them - it-1. The second - it-2. Third - it-3. Do the same operation with the list of your purposes the next three (five) years, and then with the list of the purposes for six months.
Thus, you receive nine purposes. Then choose from these nine three and write down them on a new sheet of paper under the title: "My three most important long-term objectives". List them as importance for you: "it-1", "it-2", "it-3".
So you have finished job over drawing up of the preliminary text of the Declaration of the Vital Purposes. You have received that you would like to make with your life as it is represented to you now. When I work with separate clients, I spend a lot of time, helping them to improve their Declarations of the Vital Purposes. At times we receive from six to seven various variants for two weeks before we receive the list which reflects true intentions of my client.
Repeat job
You also can try to make some projects of your Declaration. In the same way, as the photographer, who can do pictures of the same scene some times to achieve due effect, your Declaration of the Vital Purposes only will win from many consecutive "pictures".
Therefore tomorrow repeat this exercise and compare results. You do not receive the same answers and most likely you will add something such that was absent in an initial variant. So the human brain works. As the declaration of the Vital Purposes is not static, it should be reconsidered periodically.
Your birthday is suitable time to reconsider your declaration. Even if you have correctly caught your purposes one year ago, for a year you have changed also last year's introspection not precisely reflects your this way of perception you of world around.
