Droid : Icons Have Come a Great Distance
The Droid and the icons it has onboard reflect the new smartphone technology. The Droid icons are smooth, straightforward to identitfy and tend to convey what they mean in a relatively nice show that allows for ease in understandingIt used to be, you had 3 to five icons on your mobile telephone to tell you everything that's happening with your cellular world. These days there is plenitude of icons, and at the forefront are the iPhone and the Verizon Droid.
Now you can see not only voicemail as an icon, but if you missed a call, if there's a call on hold, new voicemail or new e-mail message. You will know if there's an issue with your SMS or MMS delivery, if there is new instant message, if info is syncing or if a song is playing on your telephone. The Droid and the icons it has onboard reflect the new smartphone technology.
If the ringer is off in silent mode or if the speakerphone is on - there is a separate icon for it. You can tell if there is a call on hold, if the call is forwarded or if there us a calling progress. It will also tell you if GPS is enabled and if it is working.
The Droid icons are smooth, easy to identify and have a tendency to convey what they mean in a relatively nice show that allows for ease in understanding. The Droid wants this level of icons as it does so much. It has got an aircraft mode where wireless services are instantly set to off.
All of these icons are show in the standing bar on the top of the Droid. Of course, you get the common icons, but there also are icons for outstanding Notifications and Messages. This suggests that all of the calls, texts and new mails are all shown in this section. They're going to be there till you look after them. This is great for when you're away from your cell-phone.
The Droid doesn't give audio reminders, but it does give you plenty of icons and a green blinking light that may turn on the status bar so that you can look after any outstanding actions that are shown by the assorted icon notices. All you need to do then is turn on your Droid and touch the specific icon that measures up to an action. You can then sort it.
For as cool as the Droid is, sometimes it needs to be rebooted. You can spot when this is happening when the see-through wheel icon starts spinning non-stop. You will need to use the Advance Task Killer if you have it, and can use it. There are various types icons for various services and apps. Everything from apps to actions to take, Droid icons are easy to read and pretty clear cut.
