He too steadfastly peered into strips of blinding light, eyes have again begun it, and there was an occasion, without reproaching itself, to cover them again. And only then, almost having recovered from an initial visual shock, it has asked itself(himself) the most serious question:Who has included - that has included these fires?
All checks, even the most thin, proved that this world is sterile. But here there was something, in any way explainable action of natural forces. We will admit, the life here really is not present - whether it means, what there is no consciousness? Robots could oversleep millions years - and to wake up. And can, light explosion - not programmed. The casual convulsion, the last agonal sigh of the cars which have answered on it on affinity of a new star, and soon the Frame will run again into hibernation, this time for ever?
However Norton and itself did not believe that the explanation is so primitive and simple. Any slices of a mosaic puzzle have started to rise on the places, but many, too many still lacked. How to understand, for example, absence of any signs of ageing, the novelty press on all around as if the Frame only yesterday has descended from building berths?.

Difficult structures, hardly distinguishable on a dome over a head, confused Norton, in effect, no more, than any pendant chandelier in one of huge concert halls of the Earth. Rather unacceptable there was Only cylindrical sea.
