Ethics, morals, values and integrity of the personWhat is "ethics" in the true sense words? On this question it is impossible to give an unambiguous answer as ethics are difficult set of the ideas mentioning areas of morals, values and personal integrity. Each of these aspects of ethics is important for its understanding and, certainly, each of them influences all the others.
- Ethics: this word occurs from Ancient Greek «it» that means «personal shape» or "morale", and designates moral sense display in daily conditions surrounding you.
- Morals: moral principles, set of customs of the behaviour inspired to us by a society. We perceive these moral principles, using them as criterion for an ethical estimation of the life, and also for formation of the system of values.
- Values: result of your personal interpretation of moral principles of a society.
- Integrity of the person: conformity between your values and ethics of behaviour, and also the responsibility connected with this conformity.
One business — to have the system of the values approving or rejecting this or that behaviour based on public morals, and absolutely another — to believe in this system (in other words to create for itself the ethical code of behaviour for an everyday life). How you as a result arrive, facing one of daily problems, and defines level of your personal integrity. Ethics mean nothing, if it is not supported by integrity.
As you could notice, in this paragraph we have resulted few concrete data. Some of the given concepts are relative and are extremely subjective. But in it their sense: the own treatment of such concepts, as "ethics", "morals", "values" and "integrity" is inherent in each type of the person. And certainly, the representative of each type piously believes what he understands them correctly.
Why the ethics problem nevertheless so is important? Unless it is impossible to live and rejoice simply lives, without facing these delicate questions? Perhaps, also it is possible, but not too long: finally one of these questions will inevitably puzzle you. And as our life becomes more and more difficult, that, having hidden a head in sand, you will secure yourselves only for a short while.
