Sometimes, at long lonely o'clock of watch, Boumen listened to these noise. It turned a loudness regulator until the crash and hissing did not start to sound on all cabin. At times the begun background whistle and peep as if the terrified birds shouted were heard. These sounds cast horror because proceeded not from the person; they awoke a loneliness acute sense - senseless, as splash of waves about coast, as peals of a distant thunder behind horizon...Even at such huge speed - over hundred fifty thousand kilometres per hour - "Diskaveri" was required almost two weeks to cross orbits of all companions of Jupiter. And them at it was more than planets in Solar system; the lunar observatory opened every year all new, and now them was thirty six. Most external of them, Jupiter XXVII, addressed on an unstable orbit in a direction, the return to other companions, being in twenty nine millions kilometres from the time master. It was "trophy" of Jupiter in its immemorial, a dragged-out war with the Sun: this giant continually snatched out to itself for the period of the moon from a belt of asteroids and through some millions years again lost them. Only internal companions remained the integral property of Jupiter - the Sun was not in forces to pull out them from its power.
Have published Europe looked a huge snow sphere, with extraordinary intensity reflecting light of the far Sun. Supervision from more short distances have confirmed it: Europe, unlike the dim Moon, was is dazzling white and in many places is covered by the sparkling blocks similar to frozen in icebergs. They almost for certain consisted of ammonia and water which for some reason have not been seized by a gravitational field of Jupiter. Only on equator exposures of rocky breeds were seen; this lifeless desert which has been improbably cut up by canyons and chaotic heaps of rocks, surrounded with a dark strip all small world. Astronauts have noticed some craters of a meteoric origin, but any signs it - Europe obviously had no internal sources of heat.
Now Jupiter filled in with itself all outlook, it a hook was huge that neither reason, nor the eye could not capture it any more and were receded, recognising the powerlessness. If the cloudy cover was not poured by extraordinary set of colours and shades - red, pink, yellow, orange, even bright red, - Boumen could think that it flies over continuous overcast on the Earth.
