Droid : Icons Have Come a Long Way
The Droid and the icons it has onboard reflect the new smartphone technology. The Droid icons are smooth, straightforward to identitfy and have a tendency to convey what they mean in a relatively nice display that allows for ease in comprehensionIt used to be, you had 3 to five icons on your mobile phone to tell you everything that is happening with your cellular world. These days there is plenitude of icons, and at the forefront are the iPhone and the Verizon Droid.
Now you can see not only voicemail as an icon, but if you missed a call, if there is a call on hold, new voicemail or new e-mail message. You may know if there's a problem with your SMS or MMS delivery, if there is new instant message, if info is syncing or if a song is playing on your telephone. The Droid and the icons it has onboard reflect the new smartphone technology.
If the ringer is off in silent mode or if the speakerphone is on - there is a separate icon for it. You can tell if there is a call on hold, if the call is forwarded or if there us a calling progress. It will also tell you if GPS is enabled and if it is working.
The Droid icons are smooth, straightforward to identify and tend to convey what they mean in a relatively nice show that allows for ease in comprehension. The Droid desires this level of icons as it does so much. It's got an airplane mode where wireless services are mechanically set to off.
All of these icons are show in the standing bar on the top of the Droid. Naturally, you get the usual icons, but there are icons for pending Notifications and Messages. This suggests that all of the calls, text messages and new emails are all shown in this section. They'll be there till you take care of them. This is excellent for when you're away from your cell telephone.
The Droid doesn't give audio reminders, but it is doing give you lots of icons and a green blinking light that will turn on the standing bar so you can look after any outstanding actions that are shown by the various icon notices. All you need to do then is turn on your Droid and touch the express icon that measures up to an action. You can then sort it.
For as cool as the Droid is, occasionally it must be rebooted. You can say when this is occurring when the see-through wheel icon starts spinning non-stop. You will need to use the Advance Task Killer if you have it, and can use it. There are different types icons for various services and apps. Everything from apps to actions to take, Droid icons are easily read and pretty clear cut.
