Droid : Icons Have Come a Long Way
The Droid and the icons it has onboard reflect the new smartphone technology. The Droid icons are smooth, straightforward to identitfy and tend to convey what they mean in a comparatively nice presentation that allows for ease in understandingIt used to be, you had three to 5 icons on your cell phone to tell you everything that is happening with your cellular world. These days there is plethora of icons, and at the forefront are the iPhone and the Verizon Droid.
Now you can see not only voicemail as an icon, but if you missed a call, if there's a call on hold, new voicemail or new e-mail message. You'll know if there's a problem with your SMS or MMS delivery, if there is new instant message, if information is syncing or if a song is playing on your telephone. The Droid and the icons it has onboard reflect the new smartphone technology.
If the ringer is off in silent mode or if the speakerphone is on - there is a separate icon for it. You can tell if there is a call on hold, if the call is forwarded or if there us a calling progress. It will also tell you if GPS is enabled and if it is working.
The Droid icons are smooth, straightforward to identify and have a tendency to convey what they mean in a comparatively nice presentation that allows for ease in comprehension. The Droid wants this level of icons as it does so much. It has got an aircraft mode where wireless services are automatically set to off.
All these icons are show in the standing bar on the top of the Droid. Of course, you get the usual icons, but there are icons for outstanding Notifications and Messages. This indicates that all of the calls, SMS messages and new e-mails are all shown in this section. They're going to be there till you take care of them. This is excellent for when you're away from your cell telephone.
The Droid doesn't give audio reminders, but it does give you lots of icons and a green blinking light that will turn on the standing bar so that you can take care of any outstanding actions that are shown by the assorted icon notices. All that you need to do then is activate your Droid and touch the explicit icon that measures up to an action. You can then fix it.
For as cool as the Droid is, occasionally it needs to be rebooted. You can say when this is occurring when the see though wheel icon starts spinning non-stop. You will need to use the Advance Task Killer if you have it, and can use it. There are various types icons for diverse services and apps. Everything from apps to actions to take, Droid icons are easy-to-read and pretty clear cut.
