Why Do You Need to Use PNG Image Format in Your Web Design?
The advantages of including PNG file format in website creation over the different file types like GIF and JPEG; the file type can be used to make good and wonderful icons that will prove alluring to your visitorsThe PNG image format was introduced some time ago; it was put forth for consumers in 1995/96 to cover the drawbacks of the popular GIF file type. However, it did not catch on because the then browsers were not designed to support the advanced attributes of PNG so web designers and makers were compelled to include it in their designs sparingly. One of the major blocks faced by the format was Microsoft's flagship product, Internet Explorer which was by far the most famous browsers of the time; IE had little or no provision for PNG support which meant that the format could only be made use of in the most restricted way. However, the scene changed when IE7 was brought out; this fresh browser from Microsoft has proved immensely useful in increasing increasing the utility of PNGs. Gamma setting is a technique that helps to spread the luminance across the monitor display. However, different operating systems use varying Gamma settings. Therefore, a picture that is color corrected to suit Windows may not look right on a Mac. Again, in this scenario the versatile PNG image type comes to the rescue, in PNG, you can save the pictures with with a Gamma correction feature that is innate so regardless of the operating system; the Gamma settings will be changed on its own to show an image with the impressive ratios of contrast as well as brightness.
